Our Primary Goals for Assigning Homework
For students to develop a strong sense of responsibility
and to practice independently what they are learning

The Most Important Things to Remember About Homework
- All assigned homework is essential in developing grade level knowledge and skills.
- Homework is not assigned just to keep kids busy
- Thoughtfully completing homework each night should take less than one hour.
- Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday
- Most nights, homework consist of a math assignment and journal writing.
- All skills necessary for completing homework have been taught in class.
- Students should be able to complete their homework without assistance.
- Students must maintain a notebook (provided) listing all assignments each day.
- Homework is checked daily and a weekly report sent home each Monday.
Quality Matters
- Just because you turn in something does not mean you will be given credit for it.
- Homework needs to be completed thoughtfully and neatly.
- All assignments must be fully labeled with first and last name, date, and title.
- All written work should be done in cursive writing.
- Students must show all of their work on math assignments (no calculators).
- Partially done or late assignments are considered incomplete.
